Initially coined by William Stern, IQ, short for Intelligence Quotient, is a score that comes from a certain set of tests made primarily to determine intelligence. IQ is measure on a variety of abilities including speed, accuracy, and detail/recall. The formula for this "intelligent score" is the mental age divided by chronological age times 100.
